Recent work

A few jobs from around Glasgow.

Before: old foam-lagged hot water cylinder with rust streaks After: new Megaflo unvented cylinder BeforeAfter

Leaking cylinder replaced for a landlord

An old direct vented copper cylinder had been leaking badly and caused significant water damage. Within a few days it was replaced with a high-efficiency unvented cylinder, set on a new plinth in place of the rotten one, and the off-peak tariff arranged with the energy supplier so the immersions heat on the cheapest rate.

Same engineer, start to finish

The engineer who quotes your job is the engineer who does it. My diary is usually full, so book in advance to avoid disappointment.

  • Surveyed before quoted. The price is fixed in writing before work starts.
  • Done to a high standard. All work is properly tested, commissioned and installed to local building regulations and manufacturer's instructions, using quality equipment and materials throughout.

How it works

  1. Tell me what's happening

Email or the form. Fault code, boiler make, or just "there's no hot water" — whatever you've got.

  2. Survey or diagnosis

For replacements I come out and survey. For breakdowns I diagnose on site.

  3. Fixed written quote

One figure, itemised, with exclusions stated. Take your time over it.

  4. Work done and certified

Booked in, done properly, tested and handed over with the paperwork you need.

Common questions

Are you Gas Safe registered?

Yes — Gas Safe register number 962889. You can check any engineer's registration at gassaferegister.co.uk before letting them touch your gas. Always ask to see the card.

How soon can you come out?

My diary is usually booked up in advance, so get in touch early to avoid disappointment. I don't offer 24-hour emergency cover. If you smell gas, call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.

Do you charge for a quote?

No. Quotes for replacement work are free, and I'll survey the property before putting a figure in writing so the price doesn't move once I'm on site.

Can you work on unvented hot water cylinders?

Yes — I hold the G3 qualification required to install, service and repair unvented cylinders.

Do you install heat pumps as well as gas boilers?

Yes. For new heat pump installations I work with an MCS-accredited partner. We carry out the system design and order the equipment and materials the job needs; I install and commission it as your engineer, and you deal with me from the first visit to handover.

Need a boiler looked at?

Tell me what's up and I'll come back to you with a straight answer. The same engineer from start to finish.
